Over the past several years the city of Amman has experienced tremendous growth, the city’s population
increase coupled with limited infrastructure and planning that led to haphazard expansion and a lack for major
public services such as Major City Parks.
Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) has responded to this urgent need by developing The Amman
Master Plan Initiative that will articulate the vision and development direction for the city, which was
inspired by his Majesty King Abdullah II vision for Amman. One of the key elements that have been
addressed by Amman Master Plan was the Conservation of Amman Urban & Architectural Heritage.
